Data Accuracy
The MAC vendor data on this site is sourced from the official IEEE OUI Registry and is updated daily. However, we make no warranty that the information is complete, accurate, current or error-free. For definitive or legally binding information, always consult the IEEE directly.
MAC Address Limitations
A MAC address lookup identifies the manufacturer of the network interface chip — not necessarily the brand of the complete device. For example, a Dell laptop with an Intel Wi-Fi chip will show Intel as the vendor, not Dell. Additionally, MAC addresses can be spoofed (changed via software) on most modern devices, so results should not be used as sole evidence of device identity.
MAC Randomisation
Modern operating systems (iOS 14+, Android 10+, Windows 10+) implement MAC address randomisation as a privacy feature. Randomised MAC addresses will not match a real vendor in the IEEE database. If a lookup returns no result or an unexpected vendor, the device may be using a randomised MAC address.
